What Vidona collects, and why.

Vidona has no account and no user database. Most of what the app does happens on your device. This page says exactly what leaves it.

Location

When you let Vidona use your location, your coordinates are sent to the transit agency for your area (for example HSL in Helsinki, TfL in London, VBB in Berlin-Brandenburg, Roma Mobilità in Rome) to fetch the stops and departures near you. That request is how the board is built. The coordinates are not sent to Skadi, are not tied to an identity, and are not stored on a server we run — we don't run one for this.

Location is used while you have the app open. You can turn it off in iOS Settings; the app then falls back to your saved stops.

Motion

If you allow motion access, Vidona uses the iPhone's motion data to tell when you've boarded a vehicle and which line you're on. This processing stays on your device. The motion data is not transmitted.

Your saved stops

Favourites and recently opened stops are stored on your device and in your own iCloud key-value storage, so they follow you across your devices. They are not visible to us.

Advertising

Vidona shows ads through Google AdMob to keep the app free. To serve ads, AdMob's SDK collects device and usage information as described in Google's policies. In the EU and UK you are shown a consent choice before personalised ads are used; if you decline, ads are non-personalised. On iOS, personalised ads also require the system "Allow Tracking" permission — Vidona works the same whether or not you grant it.

You can change your ad-consent choice any time from the app's About screen.

What we don't do

No account, sign-in, or profile.
No selling of personal data.
No analytics SDK tracking you across apps beyond what AdMob needs to show ads under your consent choice.

Your rights

Because Vidona holds no account data about you, there is nothing on our side to export or delete. To remove on-device data, delete the app; to remove the iCloud copy of your favourites, sign out of iCloud for Vidona in iOS Settings. For ad-related data, use the in-app consent option above and Google's controls.

Children

Vidona is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
